AI Aided Architectural Fabrication 2023 Symposium in Berlin

The May symposium, "AI Aided Architectural Fabrication," and the series of workshops will again focus on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the design and construction of buildings. This symposium will highlight the ways in which AI can be used to gather and manage data in the architectural fabrication process, and will explore the potential benefits and challenges of using AI in this context.

In the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, data gathering and processing can be a challenging task for a number of reasons. Foremost, the AEC industry is a collaborative industry, with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, each using its own data management systems and processes. This can make it difficult to integrate and standardize data across the various parties involved in a project.

Furthermore, AEC involves the creation of large-scale and complex physical structures, which generate a large amount of data. This data can be challenging to manage and process efficiently and effectively, especially when it is collected from multiple sources and in various formats.

Lastly, the AEC industry often uses specialized software and tools to manage and analyze data, which can be complex and require a high level of expertise to use effectively. While data gathering and processing can be challenging in the AEC industry, there are also many potential benefits to be gained from solving these challenges and leveraging data effectively.
In the symposium and workshops, experts in the field will share their experiences and insights on the use of AI in architectural fabrication and discuss the latest developments and trends. Learn from leading experts, network with your peers, and explore how AI can change the way buildings are designed and built. It will be a great pleasure to see you at the conference and we look forward to exploring the exciting possibilities of AI-aided architectural fabrication together with you.

Organised by the Digital Design Methods chair at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in collaboration with Prof. Christoph Gengnagel at UdK Berlin.

Workshops

Welcome to the AI and Architecture series of workshops. Over the course of two sessions, we will delve into the exciting intersection of AI and design search methods with Unity 3D and AI and data processing in robotics. We will hear from experts in the field and engage in hands-on exercises in presence. Join us as we explore the cutting edge of this exciting field and discover new possibilities for the built environment.
